ExpanDrive for Mac v2.0.5

Jeff Mancuso September 3rd, 2009

ExpanDrive for Mac v2.0.5 [release notes] adds support for Snow Leopard in 32-bit mode. ExpanDrive on Snow Leopard running with a 64-bit kernel won’t be available until MacFUSE, a software library ExpanDrive depends on, is updated to run in 64-bit mode.

ExpanDrive for Mac v2.0.5 is available for download here and is available via the auto updater.

I never got aswers to my error reports. So I would like to test Expandrive on PPC/10.5.8. But my testlicence has declined :-(,

I’m glad you post this on the blog because, at least for me, the auto updater doesn’t work, and hasn’t worked for the at least the last 3 updates.

  3. David Says:

Much better! I must have been mistaken because I thought the previous version was supposed to be compatible with Snow Leopard. It most certainly had some issues and this release, 2.0.5 seems to have fixed those. Thanks!

  4. Jeff Mancuso Says:

@David – it was working, then there were some late breaking changes to SL that didn’t play nice with ExpanDrive

Expandrive is for sure a cool software, but way too expensive.

It has “only” one function, mounting FTP-servers. And this is not worth $40 as u can hv it with MacFuse for free.

If it would be around $15 I wouldnt hesitate to buy it. But $40, Leopard is cheaper ;)

  6. David Says:

So is 64bit support completely disabled in 2.0.5 because I have a 64bit software and kernel version of MacFUSE installed and it still complains then quits?

  7. Marc Says:

Any update on a new (faster) windows version? :)

  8. Jamie Dubs Says:

Is this still the case? I just enabled 64-bit mode and sadly found ExpanDrive non-functioning — MacFUSE appears to be supporting 64-bit since Dec 2009?

Please update us on 64 bit support for Expandrive. Will determine whether I purchase it or not.
